Many homeschooled students and some private school students have been taking advantage of enrolling in undergraduate college courses for credit with some earning degrees. What is most beneficial is allowing homeschooled students the opportunity of working toward their undergraduate college degrees (and, in some cases, earning them) without having to attend a university campus until they are emotionally ready to do so.
Most of the following universities/colleges do not require that a student sit in the class. Courses may be done in a variety of ways -- correspondence via mail, faxing assignments to professor, e-mail, audiocassette, slides, videocassette, etc. Therefore, it is imperative that you contact the university/college you are interested in to discover what is required of a distance learning student. It is also important to note that SAT, ACTs and similar tests are not required.
You will need to contact the university/college directly to ascertain fees and cost of credit per hour.
Suggestion: Be sure that the
course your scholar is taking may be transferred for credit to
another university.
