Activity

Color all the squares below. How many squares did you color?

Experiment

Get a pretty basket or a sack.  There should be nothing in the basket or sack.  

Go to your bedroom and pick up two items.  Now show your daddy and mama what you picked up.  How many items do you have?

Now, go to the front room and pick up two items that your parents would allow.  Show your daddy and mama what you found.  How many items do you have?

Go outside and pick up two items.  Show your daddy and mama what you found.  How many items do you have?

Think of other places you can go to pick up two items.

Special Note

Ask your papa and mama for 2 pennies.  Put 2 pence in one pile.  Do not take any pennies away. How many pennies do you have?

Did you know that the plural of penny is either pennies or pence?

(Plural means more than 1 of something)

coins, m&ms, toys, shoes, buttons, etc.

Make flashcards out of index cards for your child for the math families.  Flash your child daily going quickly, cheerfully, and happily.
