Curriculum Providers

Saxon Math Not only does this site tell you about their products, but there is an online placement test as well as some helpful interactive drill programs to be used while on-line.

Math-U-See A math curriculum based on the use of manipulatives that is gaining popularity within homeschooling. The videos are a great help. The slogan "Build, Say, Write" is the theme throughout, pointing out that the children need to understand what they are doing before they do any worksheets.

Silver Burdett Ginn Mathematics Publisher of math textbooks, this Web site has information as well as Internet activities for kids and printable worksheets.

Key Curriculum Press Award winning math publisher produces math textbooks and the "Key To..." books.

D.I.V.E. Into Math and Science ... Math conepts are presented from a Christian worldview by Dr. David Shormann.  Lessons are presented clearly, sample problems re worked through, students are encouraged to work through math problems with the instructor (pause the cd, work the problem, then check their work against the teacher.)

Mathematically Correct  is devoted to the concerns raised by parents and scientists about the invasion of our schools by the New-New Math and the need to restore basic skills to math education. Domestic and International Standards, reviews and articles are found in this large Web site. They also review math textbooks--a real eye-opener! One of the BEST math Web sites.

Euclid's Elements from Clark University. A modern version of the original 13 books in Greek of Euclid's Elements, uses a logical development of geometry and other branches of mathematics. Java applets helps to bring the illustrate geometry and bring the Elements alive.

Animated Math Glossary from Harcourt Brace. This is really cool! Grades 1-8

Kid's Web from Syracuse University. A listing of links for math including these subtitles: general, fractals, geometry, history, chaos & complexity, numbers, puzzles & problems solving.

Ask Dr. Math from Swarthmore University. A part of the Math Forum, Ask Dr. Math answers questions for math K-12.

Cuisenaire Learning Place a math and science manipulative program using manipulatives and print materials for K-12.

Mega Mathematics The MegaMath project is intended to bring unusual and important mathematical ideas to elementary school classrooms so that young people and their teachers can think about them together. The Geometry Center The Course Material pages house materials for educational use. They include classroom exercises and laboratory materials, as well as the CHANCE database materials for a course in probability and statistics. Site includes vast geometry resources and references.

Gallery of Interactive Geometry Part of the Geometry Center site above, the gallery contains several geometric figures, patterns, symmetry groups, etc., that can be played with like a game. Includes a very cool "build a rainbow" section.

The Fractals Lesson What are Fractals? They're everywhere, those bright, weird, beautiful shapes called fractals. Fractals are geometric figures, just like rectangles, circles and squares, but fractals have special properties that those figures do not have.
