of the Early Church
Scheduling Ideas
Our family prefers to do
an intensive study over two weeks ending on Good Friday. We
opt to read through the Book of Luke in week #1 as the Trials and Testimony
of the Early Church Set
tends to quote a great deal from the Book of Luke. Moreover,
the Book of Luke presents a nice summary of the timeframe. My
daughters prefer to go through the Book of Matthew in week #2.
We always opt to have the talented Alexander Scourby read the Bible to us as
he is so brilliant at it!
During Christmas break, the
schedule remains pretty much the same except the talented Alexander
Scourby read the the Book of Mark in week #1 and the Book
of John in week #2 as he is so brilliant at it!
In this way, our family reads
along while Alexander Scourby does an outstanding performance
of reading the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) each year.
Highly recommended: Invite non-Christian children
the same ages as each of your children to enjoy this two week
heavy excursion into ancient civilizations. You will be
opening up a better understanding of Christianity and they will
enjoy the sojourn !
Remember: This is how
OUR family opts to prepare for Easter. Our children are
excused from all other studies (e.g., math, science, history,
geography, etc.) during Easter break. During Christmas break,
we work our schedule in such a way that the last day of this intensive
journey into the ancient world ends December 23rd. Again,
this schedule is just to give you an idea of what may be accomplished.
