phew ... I'm exhausted

Postby Beverly » Wed May 06, 2009 6:24 am

I'm uncertain about this new position. When I walked into this position, I was already behind. There are no protocol procedures. It's hard to pin down anybody to figure out what I am supposed to do! Because offices and things are being painted and moved, I have no office, phone, or computer at this point.

Very, VERY frustrating.

If ya think about it, I'd appreciate prayer!

Sheesh, sounds like a few jobs I've had. I pray you can get it all figured out.

Again, please keep me in prayer!

Because it is such a rural hospital everybody knows everybody and, more than likely, is related to each other. Moreover, to a certain extent, the system is closed which explains WHY I have no protocols, etc.

What I have the most difficult time with is not having protocols/procedures clearly written out explaining what is done when and where. The other thing that seems to be happening is a blurring of lines between social work and nursing where they want social workers to write vital signs on state forms, etc. Rightly or wrongly, that piece makes me nervous as it becomes a liability issue for me (and the hospital). I've started on my own procedural/protocol manual. When I have the first rough draft completed, I'll take it to the administrator to determine if what I have been led to believe is what he really wants to be accomplished.
